As a result of happenings over the 2013-2014 year, there are a couple of rule changes being proposed:

1) Beginning with the fall season, registered JAHA players will be required to display a sticker on their helmet. This is to assist on- and off-ice officials quickly identify you as an eligible player. Ineligible players on the ice during JAHA games can potentially cause USA Hockey to withdraw their insurance coverage for everyone on the ice at the time, which could pose a serious threat to all players on the ice, the rink, and JAHA in the case of injury.

2) In the past, the rules governing JAHA tournaments has been incomplete, leading to misunderstandings by players and officials. As a result, a new section of rules is proposed to be added to resolve this.

The full text of these rules is attached to this post.

Per JAHA’s bylaws, these proposed rule changes are being distributed to the membership (see attached), posted to the website, the Juneau Hockey Officials association, and posted at Treadwell Arena for a period of 10 days. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns with the proposed rule changes at juneauadulthockey@gmail.com before August 23rd. After the 10 day period elapses, the rule changes shall go into effect immediately.
